Vintage Histories
Discovering the history and origins of your most prized possessions
Vintage Histories

Do you have a treasured family heirloom that you would like to know more about?  Perhaps you are unsure of how to best care for or store your item.  Or maybe you would just like to know more about its origins and history.  You may be looking to sell some of your things to make some extra money during these tough economic times, but are unsure of what your possessions are worth.  Vintage Histories can help you in all of these areas.

How does it work?

You send us as many detailed, clear, digital images of your object(s) as will adequately depict it, as well as any other information you may have about it.  We will thoroughly research your object and provide you with:

-The history of the manufacturer or artist

-Date range of production

- Directions on general care and preservation for your object

-An educated estimate of your object’s value in the current market

-A complete bibliography of sources used

Please refer to the Services and Pricing page for more information.

What kind of things will you look at?
You might be surprised at how many things you have in your house that could be worth a lot of money!

-Ceramics (porcelain, American, European, tea service, decorative, etc.)

            -Glass (decorative, depression, etc.)

-Silver (decorative, tea service, sterling, etc.)

            -Smoking pipes (Meerschaum, wood, clay)

            -Jewelry*

-Prints and paintings (paintings must be signed)

             -Collectibles

-Not sure what else?  Just ask!

*Because of the difficulty in differentiating between costume and fine jewelry through photographic images, arriving at an estimated value may not always be possible.

We’re sorry, but we can not look at furniture at this time.

Please feel free to explore our site, read our testimonials, or peruse examples of our work.  If you think you are ready to begin learning more about some of your antiques and family heirlooms, please send us an email and we will send you the guidelines to get started.
